ABOUT... my unframed prints
Some are laser prints...
Laser prints are an economical way for me to capture an image. The process is a digital scan directly from the original artwork. That flexibility lets me do as few as 10 prints in an edition and the surface of the print can be decorated with gold leaf or other pigments. As on most reproductions ,I can make the image larger or smaller. Another plus is the lightfastness (fade resistance) of the inks; they're more permanant than the prints I used to make using offset lithography. Indeed, they are more lightfast than some of the original paintings.
My laser prints are mounted on acid-free Strathmore Bristol. That paper carries the title, edition number and my signature. Acid-free mats carry this same information.
A few are GICLEE PRINTS...
GICLEE PRINTS are another form of digital scanning from original artwork. Based on the expertise of the technician, they are extremely acurate in reproduction of color. Pigments in the inks guarentee superb lightfast qualities. Acid free substrates (printing surface) provide a stable print less likely to discolor. My GICLEE prints are done on PAPER OR CANVAS with additional decoration of 23 carat gold on the surface.
